NEWS IN THE DUCKERS COMMUNITY: AURELIEN POTTIER – AMAZONICO

We spoke to Aurelien Pottier, General Manager of Amazonico London. Based in the heart of Mayfair, Berkeley Square; Amazonico brings you the spectacle of a sensory journey through the Amazon. Live music and DJ’s run through the evening to create one of the hottest atmospheres in London, it is no wonder the place is packed to the rafters every single day and is a hot spot for us to dine with the Duckers Community.

Take a look below as we speak to Aurelien on the Amazonico vibe, the secret and very exclusive hidden private bar and why Aurelien and his team love to dress in Duckers.

Hey Aurelien, how are you?

I’m doing well! Life is slowly getting back to normal after lockdown, so it’s great to see. We have been very successful since the reopening and I am really looking forward to the season ahead and everything that we have lined up.

How are things at Amazonico since the world has reopened?

International travel brings in a big part of our clientele, so we are still missing many of our regulars. However, with this, we have been able to welcome a range of new guests into the restaurant and allow for the Amazonico experience be even more widely appreciated. We still have very long waitlists, particularly for the weekends, so we encourage guests to book in as soon as they can! We are very excited for the next few months and to continue welcoming in many new and familiar faces.

For anyone new to Amazonico, what sort of vibe can the Duckers Community expect?

Our goal is for our guests to allow themselves to be taken on a sensory journey along the Amazon river and through Latin America. We are here to celebrate the cultural heritage as well as the tradition of the Amazon region. Our menus combine a blend of tropical and Latin American cuisines, and are inspired by the Amazon and the unique Asian and Mediterranean areas. The Duckers community should expect to be transported to South America and be immersed in a complete rainforest-inspired lush greenery, while listening to our Latin live bands and DJ’s conduct their ‘electro-pical’ sounds.

What is your favourite types of fashion you love seeing at your Mayfair location?

We are very lucky to have a variety of styles enter through the doors of Amazonico, from high fashion to casual chic. We always embrace different styles, as we hope that guests will also embrace our unique style too.  Fashion is at the heart of Mayfair, so we are always intrigued to see the best of fashion enter into our jungle.

The guys at Duckers recently put some designs together for you and your team. What does style mean to you all at Amazonico?

Style is a way of expressing individuality and personality. We are very free with letting people express their personality through their clothing. We love the personal bespoke touches on each item and the range of colors and designs that you put forward for us to choose from. The eye to detail that your designers have is very impressive and clearly noticed.

We hear you have an exclusive bar inside your restaurant. Tell us more?

The Club is a very special place which is a different concept to the rest of the restaurant. It is an elevated experience where we only serve premium vintage champagne and spirits, and have also crafted a special cocktail menu with hand-made glass-blown animal glasses to further deepen our guests’ jungle journey. We have invested a lot of time into our unique mixology program to create the best cocktails for our Club menu. Our music director has also created a whole new sound experience in The Club, with special DJ’s and live singers that will only make you want to dance through the night.

What have you got in store for the rest of summer?

Over the next month we will be building up to November and the Christmas season ahead. We are very excited for the vibrant and colourful nights in line, with singers, DJ’s and parties all in the plans.

For our community coming to visit you, if you had to choose one cocktail – what do you recommend?

I would definitely recommend our new cocktail, Save the Jungle, where one tree is planted for every sale. We have partnered with One Tree Planted to play our part to recover the Amazon rainforest.

TIPS FROM OUR TEAM:

For dining in the city this winter, fabric choice for your Jacket is key. Cashmere and Alpaca blends with Wool obtain durability with luxury and warmth.
Paired with a fine merino long sleeve polo or roll neck, a comfortable smart/casual look is accomplished.
